About us

Founded in 2007, by photographer turned film-maker Dave Young when he won a Channel 4 short documentary competition. We make TV documentaries, online content and promos.

In 2025 Dave went to Colorado to make a film about Assisted Dying for Channel 4 News and made a quick turnaround film ahead of the UN Oceans conference.

In 2024 Dave spent 6 month filming with asylum seekers on the Bibby Stockholm barge in Portland, Dorset. Al Jazeera commissioned a 25 minute documentary about one migrant; Salah from Somalia. Plus a fast turnaround film about sea level rise at the UN General Assembly in New York for Channel 4 News.

In 2023, Dave produced, directed and shot a fast turnaround 90' feature doc on The Zeebrugge Disaster for Windfall Films / Channel 5.

Dave won two Royal Television Society Southern awards in 2022 ("camerawork" and "Strand within a news or magazine programme").

In 2021-2022 Dave shot and produced and directed and shot an hour episode of "Accused: Guilty or Innocent" for Brinkworth / A+E Network, USA.

In 2021 Dave won an RTS for our Conjoined Twins film for Channel 4 News. And in 2020 he won for his series of "Breadline Britain" poverty films, again for Channel 4 News.

Dave worked on Channel 4's  Dispatches: Divided States of America and The Vaccine: is it Safe? Plus all four Coronavirus Specials.

Dave has also worked on high profile films for BBC Panorama and Newsnight.

Brands we've helped include: Heal's, Macmillan, Nestlé, Speedo, Lacoste, Mitre, Canterbury, Tailwind Energy, Great Western Railways, The Guardian and Vice.

Dave is an incredibly talented and very natural filmmaker - telling stories that really get under the skin of Britain. He handles sensitive subjects so carefully and pulls together very raw, honest and really moving pieces. From leading surgeons to people in homeless shelters, Dave puts contributors at their ease and earns their trust and people feel able to open up and share their most private experiences and stories with him. His film from Rhyl is still the piece I send out to others as an example of the sort of films I am looking for. But Rhyl is just one of many exceptional pieces he has produced: conjoined twins; cancer poverty; Covid poverty and Covid-Are We Winning The Battle - an hour long documentary for C4, all worthy of special mention. When we made a fast turnaround Dispatches during the 2020 American Elections, Dave almost single-handedly turned around what felt like an obs doc in just two days. Whatever the commission and however tight the deadline, Dave will give it his all, even if that means staying up all night and into the next day. His enthusiasm for stories and his friendliness with contributors always results in output with heart and soul. He is dedicated, hard-working and a thoroughly nice chap who deserves every success.
